How to Pay for Spotify Premium in Nigeria (2026)
Spotify Premium prices in naira, which plan makes sense, and how to keep your subscription from lapsing every month.
Nigeria has some of the cheapest Spotify pricing in the world. The plans are billed in naira, so the money side is simple. Keeping it running is where people struggle.
What it costs

Look at Family for a second. ₦2,500 for six people is about ₦417 each. If you and five other people are each paying ₦1,600 separately, you are collectively burning around ₦7,000 a month for no reason.
How to pay
- Open spotify.com/ng/premium in a browser. Use the browser, not the iOS app, since in-app pricing can differ.
- Log in.
- Pick your plan.
- Choose Credit or Debit Card.
- Enter your card and your real billing address.
Before you start, know that Spotify prices in naira but is still a foreign merchant, so a naira card can be declined if your bank has international transactions switched off or capped. That is the usual reason a first attempt fails. Nigerian banks switched these off through the 2022 dollar shortage and only restored them in July 2025.
The family plan problem
The Family plan is the best value in Nigerian streaming and the most annoying thing to run.
One person pays. Everyone else says they will send their share. Two of them do. By month four you have stopped asking and you are just paying ₦2,500 for six people's music.
What to do about it
Stop chasing people for their share. Gift it instead.
